"Emu ~ For My Dear ~" by Himu Kimu. I like this! I just read it now. It was posted in the YnM ML Nov 2000, and it was reposted in the YnM Fanfic ML. The latter ml is the largest archive thus far of YnM fanfics. Use the search engine in egroups to locate the fanfic in the YnM ML. It will be much easier to find in the YnM Fanfic ML.

The first few paragraphs centered on an original character. I had to forced myself to read every word. The difficulty is not due to the author's skill with words. Himu Kimu writes very well. I just don't think it's a good idea to start a "fanfic" with an original character, even if the character is not a Mary Sue or a Michael John.

The fic gets much better. Here's an excerpt.

~~~ Reaching out with a slender arm, she drew the huddled figure into her arms in a protective embrace. The figure continued to snore softly, like a tiny kitten taking its nap after a bowl of sugared milk. Ruka looked at her brother, who slept peacefully in her lap, and smiled wistfully. "Why can I not be asleep as blissfully as Asato-chan?" ~~~
Finally! I read a YnM fic with Ruka in it! Not much has been said of Tsuzuki's sister officially, but I believe she is very important. She may even have contributed to the reason why Tsuzuki was hospitalized. It is very likely, and I like fanfics which includes and concentrates on the YnM female cast.
Only a prologue written... More please!!!
First to be added to the fanfic locator. "You Say, I Say" by Shi Lin, the webmaster of Evergreen. It's a Tsuzuki and Hisoka fic, and the very first English YnM fanfic I read. The story centers on the idea that Hisoka is like {ice cream}.
~~~excerpt~~~ The sun was already setting when he arrived at Tsuzuki’s house, throwing molten beams of crimson-gold that filtered through surrounding greenery to cast wavering shadows on the sidewalk. He frowned when he noticed the gate was unlocked, until he felt a slight tug at his reikan. It was then he realised there was a kekkai surrounding the house from ground to roof. Hesitantly he put out a hand to touch a barrier of seemingly solid air, and nodded to himself when the spot he touched glowed green-gold for an instant before the shield opened to let him through. ~~~excerpt~~~

The descriptions flow. I like this quality in writing since I easily lose interest if the flow of the story breaks too often or runs too long. There is also a charming rhythm to the words. Note that I concentrate on structure rather than on concept. I'm not very enthusiastic of Tsuzuki x Hisoka. Too sweet for me. While I was reading this fanfic, I alternated between admiring of Shi Lin's writing style and wincing during the sweet scenes. I was also able to predict what would happen in the fanfic so in the end, I was not surprised (nor was I awwwwing).

There are three other fanfics in Shi Lin's site. All of which centers on Hisoka. It is a shrine for Hisoka Kurosaki after all.

A lot of artwork in this site: http://members.tripod.co.jp/Awoi/index.html.
